Personally I wouldn't worry that much about things that happen after I'm gone. And in your case, if the alternative is letting her destroy humanity, it sounds like you wouldn't have a successor anyway.

So if the recruiting doesn't work out, I think you'd be wise to keep that in mind as an option.
